The Fall-Winter 2009/10 Collection debuts online on emiliopucci.com

The Pucci Fall-Winter 2009/10 collection designed by Artistic Director, Peter Dundas is available online on its Virtual Boutique. In this collection, the designer was able to unite the noble heritage of the brand with its easy and relaxed style of today.

Effortless attitude of the rebellious aristocratic Pucci woman, sparkling with energy and ‘joie de vivre’, throws on precious tunics and trousers, bias-cut cashmere t-shirts, and zippered and aged deerskin pants under a luscious “chubby” fox fur thrown casually over her shoulders, as if it were her mother’s cardigan.

Mini-dresses in prints magically reworked to seem washed and faded recall iconic pieces of the past, but are worn with slouchy butter soft suede pirate boots. For day, drop dead attitude in the fur-lined biker blousons, or oversize silk smoking jackets in bold Palio prints and chain-edged shoulder bags in distressed denim or matte python.

A strong accent on trousers pays homage to the Capri pant, historically a staple of Pucci collections. They are reinterpreted in faded printed cotton canvas, or as slinky cargo trousers in military green or as embroidered suede pants with horse motifs in scarab-coloured gems. Even shorts in leather and cotton canvas refer to the “Palio” silhouettes. Printed crepe de chine men’s shirts simply enhance the signature look.

Going into the night, patchworks and cut-outs of Pucci-patterned guipure lace and beading reinterpret the graphic motifs and delicately play on the lines of the body. More dresses in silk jersey with matelassé appliqués like fragments of prints on long silhouettes in bright colours held up by gourmette chains.
Black, bottle green and aubergine dresses “fade” into prints and are worn under barbarian great coats of mohair-patched fur, leather and gold braiding, as the girl disappears into a starry night.

In addition, a sleek patent leather bag in two colour combinations, black and lilac or ivory and black, featuring the archival print “Onda” from the celebrated Palio Collection of 1957 will be available exclusively on the Virtual Boutique emiliopucci.com.
A portion of the proceeds from the project will be donated to charities benefitting the reconstruction of L’Aquila, the Italian city devastated by the April 6th earthquake.
