Lee Klabin's debut RTW collection launches exclusively at the famous luxury Department store Harrods this July

Lee Klabin is the emerging British designer to take note of, with Harrods delighted to be stocking the debut collection in the UK exclusively within their first floor’s Designer Studio. The Designer Studio is seen as an in-store platform for introducing exceptional emerging design talents each season and showcasing them alongside the most internationally established labels.

Lee Klabin’s AW 2010/11 ready-to-wear collection is not only an introduction to the high-end fashion market but also a fresh take on the world of fashionable technology with pieces that sustain defined tailored proportion with a wearable approach. Her obsession with emphasizing the female form was always the driving force behind her creations.

After graduating from London College of Fashion in 2006, Lee started designing couture corsets from home, each individually bespoke, inspiring the likes of Dita Von Teese, Lily Cole, Sarah Jessica Parker and Patricia Field. Having steadily gathered a fan-base has propelled her to launch her first ready-to-wear collection that still draws on the cinching and accentuating of the body. Using the most raw materials from the corset’s structure, Lee has broken down the traditional corset into its purest components and evolved them into three dimensional, structured forms for her debut ready-to-wear collection.

“Boning runs through panels and seams, twisting throughout the garments and morphing the previously standard silhouette into a sculptured modern expression,” says Lee Klabin.

The collection focuses on dresses, complimentary jackets, skirts and bustiers offering a complete wardrobe. Capturing traditional British heritage in her use of fabrics, Klabin uses textured Harris Tweeds merging with soft jerseys, leathers and organza infused with the seductive elements of the traditional corset.

Spurred on by the success of the A/W collection, Klabin is currently designing and developing her Spring/Summer 2011 ready-to-wear collection, which will be introduced with a small presentation to the international market in Paris during Couture Fashion Week from the 5-8 th of July 2010.
